COVID entry requirements
Regardless of vaccination status all travellers to Cabo Verde must present either a negative PCR result obtained within 72 hours of arrival, or an antigen test obtained within 48 hours. All international passengers must complete a health screening form online.
Requirments are subject to change. Read more in our Cabo Verde nomad guide.
All non-residents must pay a €30 ariport security tax to enter Cabo Verde. This is payable online prior to arrival (beat the airport queues!). You must complete this from at least 5 days before travelling – otherwise you risk the payment not being processed in time and being asked to make the payment for a second time at the border.
Having paid this fee all travellers may remain in Cabo Verde for up to 30 days without a visa. Refer to our visa section for information on stays beyond 30 days.
Getting to Boa Vista
The island of Boa Vista (BVC) is served with multiple daily flights operated by TUI from London (LGW), Manchester (MAN), Dusseldorf (DUS), Prague (PRG), Amsterdam (AMS), Brussels (BRU).
Italian charter company Neos is expected to resume flights from Milan (LIN) by summer 2022.
TAP Air Portugal have also reinstated their weekly direct connection from Lisbon (LIS) as of May 2022.
Boa Vista can also be reached by way of a 30-minute internal flight from the capital Praia (RAI) or by boat (2 hours) from Sal (SID).
Getting to Sal
Sal (SID) is Cabo Verde’s best connected island.
Like Boa Vista it is served with multiple daily flights operated by TUI from London (LGW), Manchester (MAN), Dusseldorf (DUS), Prague (PRG), Amsterdam (AMS), Brussels (BRU).
Additionally it benefits from regular weekly flights from Lisbon with both TAP and SATA.
Internally it has several flights a week to the capital Praia (RAI), four weekly flights to Sao Vicente (VXE) and one to the island of San Nicolau (SNE).
Getting to Sao Vicente
Sao Vicente (VXE) is well served from Amsterdam (AMS) directly with Tui and also Lisbon with TAP Portugal – although these flights remain over-priced due to the lack of route competition.
